Comfort & Joy is Darrell & Dawn’s first Christmas album together, blending beloved Christian Christmas songs with a few festive favorites for a collection that celebrates both the meaning and the fun of the season. The project also gives both Darrell and Dawn a chance to step into the spotlight individually. “The Christmas Song” and “O Holy Night” showcase the warm resonance and smooth, rich tones of Darrell’s vocal style, while “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “A Baby Changes Everything” highlight Dawn’s distinctive raspy, soulful voice.
 
One of the album’s most memorable songs is “I Got a Cold for Christmas,” which has become a crowd favorite during live Christmas concerts. Darrell tells the story of a little boy who gets an unwanted cold for Christmas while Dawn brings the character to life—complete with pink footie pajamas, wandering through the audience, singing, and playfully pretending to sneeze on unsuspecting concertgoers.
