Sojourn brings together original songs, beloved hymns, and meaningful contemporary favorites, reflecting the faith, family, and personal experiences that have shaped Darrell & Dawn’s journey. From joyful songs of assurance to deeply personal moments of remembrance, the album celebrates the hope found in Christ through every season of life.
 
Among the album’s originals is “Shine (Evie’s Song),” written for their granddaughter Evie Mae—a loving reminder to let the light God has placed within her shine. “Victory in Jesus” carries special meaning for Darrell, as it was a favorite of his father, affectionately known as Papa Bill. Its message meant so much to him that the title now appears on his gravestone.
 
“Ain’t No Grave” has become a crowd favorite and one of the highlights of Darrell & Dawn’s live concerts, bringing an energy and message of victory that audiences have come to anticipate.
 
The album closes with the bonus track “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” a song added at the last minute after Dawn was asked to sing it at the funeral of their dear friend Mike Hayter, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. What began as a song chosen for a difficult goodbye became a lasting tribute to friendship, faith, and the assurance that God remains near even in seasons of loss.
